Hidden In Glory

“For you have died and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” -Colossians 3:3

“HIDDEN WITH CHRIST IN GOD.”

Hidden. I love that. He so envelops me that I am now completely hidden. His blood so covers me that I am the righteousness of God in Him. Everything about me is now covered and clothed by the Glory of God.

If I’m hidden in the Glory of God one thing that tells me is that it’s not about me. How can it be about me if I’m hidden? No, this is all about God! Everything in the Kingdom is about God and the Glory of Christ.

“He must increase; I must decrease.” -John 3:30

All the attention, all the focus is on Jesus. Every one of us is hidden. He alone is seen. The day will come when every eye will see Him alone. He will come with clouds in great glory and power, and the gaze of everybody will be upon Him and no one else.

“Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him…” -Revelation 1:7

Until the day of His appearing, He is appearing through each of us. It is His intention that He be seen and we be hidden.

Seeing only Jesus

It’s the nature of sinful flesh to want to be seen. We would if we could, take the glory and wear the crown, but it’s not for us to wear. Consider the Tower of Babel and how they wanted to “make a name for themselves”.

“Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves.” -Genesis 11:4

It has always been the nature of men to want to make a name for themselves. Wherever the sinful nature is found pride makes self the center.

God has declared that His name would be the only name.

“The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.” -Zechariah 14:9

It’s a glorious thing to be hidden in Christ, for in that place we receive all that He is, while He receives all the glory!
