Pleasant Places

“The lines of my boundary have fallen in pleasant places; surely my inheritance is delightful.” -Psalm 16:6

One of the most beautiful things about surrender to God is that no matter what happens in life you’re guaranteed to end up in Pleasant Places!

As I’ve reflected on the last year of my life I can’t help but be amazed. God used brokenness as a catalyst to surrender, and surrender as the gateway into some very pleasant places.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that the most pleasant place of all is the very presence of God Himself!

I have never in all my life enjoyed God as much as I do now! The world looks dull in comparison.

Not only does our Father in Heaven delight in giving us Himself, but He stretches His Hands toward Earth and gives His children the greatest delights!

Abraham was a man who knew his boundaries fell in Pleasant Places. He stood with Lot surveying the great land stretched out before them and instead of grasping, he let go and opened his heart and hand. He let Lot choose.

“Then Abram said to Lot, “Let there be no strife between you me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are kinsmen. Is not the whole land before you? Separate yourself from me. If you take the left hand, then I will go to the right, or if you take the right hand, then I will go to the left.” -Genesis 13:8-9

By giving Lot the choice wasn’t Abraham risking getting the poorer piece of land?

Not at all!

Abraham knew that his boundaries fell in Pleasant Places! He knew that God had his back! No matter how it went down it was all good!

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose.” -Romans 8:28

You cannot lose with God!

Child of God you don’t have to be afraid of how things are going to fall out for you! If you love and belong to Him, it’s all good! Your boundaries will fall in Pleasant Places! He will turn all things to your greatest good, and you will sing along with the Psalmist…

“Surely my inheritance is delightful!” -Psalm 16:6
