For the creation was subjected to futility—not willingly but because of God who subjected it—in hope. -Romans 8:20
When God subjected the creation to futility it was a gift. Because it caused the whole world to see that as long as we were in this world we could never be satisfied by anything in it. His intention was to show us in no uncertain terms that if we wanted to be truly satisfied, it would only be found in God.
