For the creation was subjected to futility—not willingly but because of God who subjected it—in hope. -Romans 8:20
When God subjected the creation to futility it was a gift, because it caused the whole world to see that as long as we are in this world we can never be satisfied by anything in it. His intention was to show us in no uncertain terms that if we want to be truly satisfied, it will only be found in God Himself.
