Jesus, Our Song Of Songs

The Song of Songs, which is Solomon’s. -Song of Songs 1:1

Each one of us should be able to say, “The Song of Songs, which is____________. And be able to fill in our name.

The starting place for this song is “first love”. It’s intimacy and passion. She begins by pouring out her love on him and adoring him. She lets him know her desire after him- “Draw me after you; let us run.”

Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth! For your love is better than wine; your anointing oils are fragrant; your name is oil poured out; therefore virgins love you. Draw me after you; let us run. The king has brought me into his chambers. -Song of Songs 1:2

The consummation of her love is union with her beloved. “The king has brought me into his chambers.”

If you’ve ever wondered what kind of relationship God desires with His people, this is it, a Song of Songs. The greatest love song that could ever be written is the song we’re singing together with Him!
