This is an excerpt from my personal journal. I happened upon this entry today and felt that the Lord would have me share it…
I came to Cannon Beach to get my haircut.
The color going through the mountains was absolutely beautiful.
I’ve thought of this a few times and again today… how God can “pack eternity into a moment of time”. And also how He can change natural laws.
Philip suddenly appeared at Azotus.
Jesus walked across the waves in the storm.
A boat the disciples were in immediately was at the shore without having to go through the water! Just appeared there.
It kind of reminds me of what happened at Cannon Beach that one time! Someone I’m trying to avoid appears out of nowhere- 6″ from my face! I still can’t explain it.
These are examples of God suddenly breaking into the natural realm and circumventing natural laws to accomplish what He wants to do.
This is definitely a time where I’m seeking God to show me that which is unseen.
Show me the things that are above Father!
He tells us to seek the things that are above not the things that are on the earth, so obviously He wants to show us them.
I was also thinking how God’s ways are unconventional, but very effective!
He literally shattered me into a million pieces, but what a beautiful shattering!!
It was all done out of love.
He made me a brand new person out of it!!!
And to think of all the years that have passed since that day that I drove to that summer camp in Florida and I was so afraid of God’s discipline. It was the scariest thing in the world to me, and I knew I deserved it, but it never came.
Talk about longsuffering!
Anyone who thinks that God is just waiting to smack you doesn’t have a clue.
So many years passed but I finally came under the chastisement of the Lord.
His discipline turned out to be the most loving act he could ever perform for me!
Amazing love that breaks to heal!
Yes, totally unconventional, but totally God.
We are not to use our human understanding when we consider situations. We always want to make life and God palatable to other people. It’s to our shame that we don’t consider that God’s ways are not our ways.
His death on a cross brought life. Who would think of that but God?
But oh, what perfection in His ways!!!
